King’s Forensics

Background
King’s Forensics is a forensic science teaching and research group within King’s College London. Their research focuses on addressing some of the global analytical challenges presented to governments, the police and justice departments as well as to educators and service providers. They have research expertise ranging from anti-doping to explosives detection, scene-of-crime analysis to phenotypic identity, and drug-driving to wildlife poaching.

Brief
The group identified a need for a consolidated brand to strengthen visibility and to elevate their presence nationally, internationally and within the university. This required a bold and visual branding identity system to be rolled out across a range of collateral, working within the King’s master brand.

Result
We designed an abstract graphic device made up of lines of various lengths. It draws upon the visual language of biological matrices and analysis peaks, alluding to the meticulous analysis of data that runs throughout all of their work. King’s Forensics comprises of four core groups, and we have given each group its own colour from the King’s palette to differentiate the varied work they do.

I would warmly recommend RF Design as they have patiently supported many changes throughout the process with a professional, creative and meticulous approach to our brief. The result of this enjoyable and collaborative process is an innovative, strong brand including a package of unique and adaptable assets across all platforms.
