Alive

Background

ALIVE brings together psychological and poverty reduction mechanisms in order to reduce the incidence of depression and anxiety among adolescents in Colombia, Nepal and South Africa.

The aim of the study is to develop and pilot-test an intervention that equips adolescents with the skills to deal with the difficulties caused by living in poverty and strengthen self-regulation, to improve mental health in urban settings in the three low- and middle-income countries.

Brief

The brief was to create a unique identity which expressed the aspirations of the ALIVE research project. It needed to be modern and approachable, appealing to young people alongside the academics conducting the research.

We needed to create a logo and graphics that translated across the website and marketing collateral, including PowerPoint slide decks and in-stream social media templates.

Results

The solution was a unique ‘Alive’ logotype which uses the ‘A’ to create an arch representing the nurturing aspect of the project, which we utilised as a graphic device to hold photos. The letters ‘iv’ were used to depict the young beneficiaries. We used modern and complementary colours which were applied throughout the website and deliverables. We also created a small series of icons to be used as visual cues across the website.
