Background
The International Inequalities Institute (III) at the London School of Economics (LSE) is a research centre focused on understanding and addressing global inequalities. It brings together researchers to study economic, social, and political disparities, exploring their causes and solutions. Through research, policy discussions, and education, III tackles issues like wealth distribution, social mobility, and the impact of race and gender on inequality, aiming to promote a more equitable world.
The brief
The International Inequalities Institute at the LSE asked us to create a clear visual identity among its target audiences to reinforce their messaging. The visual identity needed to fit under the overarching LSE brand guidelines.
The result
We created an identity based on the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols to emphasise the institute’s primary purpose. We also developed a number of templates enabling the in-house team to utilise the identity in a cost-effective manner. The graphic device is frequently paired with compelling photographs that highlight stark contrasts in wealth and privilege.
